Abstract
While drawing on extensive references taken from European and American cinema, Haroun creates a work of art firmly rooted in his native Tchad and yet open onto the world at large. In doing so, it is the view of the authors that Haroun's films can be heralded as inaugurating a new wave in African cinema.
