Abstract

This article discusses the application of a reduced-size branch-line coupler in the design of a LDMOS class-AB balanced power amplifier at a center frequency of 2.14 GHz. In the proposed balanced configuration, at center frequency a size reduction, improved intermodulation distortion level by 7 dB, and power added efficiency by 5% are achieved, comparing with the balanced configuration with Wilkinson couplers.
