Abstract

This paper evaluates the degree of entrepreneurship in the Ghanaian textile industry and highlights whether it has any embedded innovation attributes. The primary aim is to investigate whether entrepreneurship and innovation can exist independently or whether a combination and to what extent such combination would enhance success on the international market. Our paper is based on a longitudinal study of the Ghanaian textile industry – drawing upon the trade liberalisation orthodoxy and its implications for emerging markets.
