Lifetime experiences of self-employment

Abstract

This report, by the Policy Studies Institute, explores the patterns of labour market participation and pension provision among self-employed people. It is based on analyses of the 1994-95 Family and Working Lives Survey, a representative sample of more than 9,000 people in Great Britain aged 16 to 69 years. It draws on lifetime information on economic activity, family circumstances and pension provision.
